PRO 550BHX

The SLIK PRO 550BHX supports 3.0kg and handles full-sized professional DSLRs with standard lenses.

The tripod comes with the SLIK SBH-808DQ ball head. This ball head uses the same quick release system as the PRO 700DX Head, one of the fastest and easiest quick release plates in the industry.  Additionally this Ball head has a separate pan lock for horizontal movment (panning) of the camera while the ball is locked in position.  This is very useful for panoramic photography. 

 

The PRO 550 series are capable of handling the weight of a professional full-frame DSLRs or mirrorless cameras with heavy lenses.  It can handle up to 6.0kg of equipment yet it keeps itself light in case the tripod needs to be moved around.  It offers professional photographers and advanced amateurs the strength and stability they need. SLIK’s exclusive AMT super titanium alloy legs make the PRO 550 tripods rock steady yet lighter than it looks.

 

“What’s so great about AMT alloy?” You may be thinking. AMT has a 40% greater strength to weight ratio than standard aluminum. The legs are lighter weight yet stronger than the standard metal used in most of today’s tripods. This lightweight comes with a price comparable to other standard aluminum tripods.

 

The SLIK PRO 550DX also makes setting up easy with secure, speed-release leg locks (pictured left). A gearless center column and 3-position, adjustable angle leg locks allow easy set-up on uneven ground or steps. The SLIK PRO 500DX center column is two threaded pieces that convert the top piece to a short column. Combined with the adjustable leg angle locks the tripod lowers to 350mm for low angle or macro photography.
